Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the UnitConverter app, published as Unit Dial, for Android and iOS (App ID: com.dimadyuk.unitconverter), together with any related services operated by Dzmitry Dzemidziuk (collectively, the "Application"). Dzmitry Dzemidziuk is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider". This single policy covers both platforms; where a rule applies to only one of them, the platform is stated explicitly.

Summary

The Application converts units of measurement on your device. It has no user accounts, requires no registration, and all conversions except live currency rates work offline. The Service Provider operates no servers of its own and never receives the values you convert, your conversion history, your favourites, or your settings.

What does leave your device is limited to: the information exchanged with the app store and the subscription-management provider when you make or restore a purchase; a daily request for published foreign-exchange reference rates; the usage and crash diagnostics collected by Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics; and, in the free version, the data processed by Google AdMob in order to serve the advertising that funds the Application. The free version of the Application shows advertising, and depending on the choices you make in the consent prompts that advertising may be personalised, which involves the use of advertising identifiers and, under some privacy laws, counts as "sharing" your personal information. An active premium subscription or the lifetime purchase removes all advertising. Everything is described below.

Data Stored On Your Device Only

The following is created by you, stays on your device, and is never transmitted to the Service Provider or to any third party:

Advertising

The free version of the Application displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC): a banner on the main screens and one full-screen (interstitial) advertisement when you open Settings. Advertising is not shown during your first session after installation, and it is removed entirely for as long as you hold an active premium subscription or the lifetime purchase.

Your Advertising Choices and Consent
Analytics and Crash Reporting

The Application uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics, provided by Google, to understand how the Application is used in aggregate and to detect and fix defects. These services are used for product improvement only — never to build advertising profiles.

Availability. Analytics and crash reporting are active in the released Application and cannot currently be switched off from inside it. They are disabled in development builds. You can stop this processing by uninstalling the Application, you may reset the app-instance identifier by reinstalling it, and you can object to the processing or ask for data associated with your installation to be deleted by writing to dimadyuk.dev@gmail.com. Analytics and crash data are kept separate from the advertising processing described above and are not used to target advertisements.

Google processes this data as the Service Provider's processor under the Firebase Data Processing and Security Terms. Google's own handling of the data is described in the Firebase Privacy and Security documentation and the Google Privacy Policy.

Exchange Rates

For currency conversion the Application ships with a built-in snapshot of reference rates and, at most once a day, requests updated published reference rates from the public Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.dev), which republishes the reference rates of the European Central Bank. The request contains no information about you, your conversions, or your device beyond what is inherent to any HTTPS request — principally your IP address and the standard connection metadata, which the operator of that service may log. No identifier of you or of your installation is sent, and currency conversion continues to work offline from the last downloaded or built-in rates.

Data Processed By Third Parties

The Application uses the following third-party services. They act as independent controllers or as processors acting on the Service Provider's instructions, and they process the data described here in accordance with their own privacy policies:

As part of delivering these services, the providers and their infrastructure may observe technical information such as your IP address and device identifiers. This is inherent to any network request and is described in their own privacy policies, linked below.

What The Application Does Not Collect

The Application does not collect, and the Service Provider does not receive:

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Application does not use browser cookies, but advertisements are delivered inside the Application and Google may store and read identifiers and similar information on your device in order to serve, cap, measure and bill for them.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the processing described above rests on the following legal bases:

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

The analytics, crash and advertising data described above are not linked to your name or to any account, so the Service Provider is normally unable to identify you from them and may be unable to act on a request that cannot be tied to a specific installation; where the request concerns advertising, your advertising identifier — which you can read and reset in your device settings — is usually the only usable reference. Data held on your device is under your own control and can be deleted in the Application or by uninstalling it. To exercise these rights, contact the Service Provider at dimadyuk.dev@gmail.com.

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. The Service Provider does not sell your personal information for money. However, the delivery of personalised advertising through Google AdMob may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out by declining tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt on iOS (or turning the Application off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking), by using the "Ad privacy settings" entry where it is available, by limiting ad personalisation in your Android settings, or by writing to the Service Provider at dimadyuk.dev@gmail.com. Purchasing premium removes advertising, and with it this processing, altogether. The Service Provider does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

Third-Party Privacy Policies

The third-party services used by the Application have their own privacy policies:

International Data Transfers

Google, RevenueCat, and Apple may process data in countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Those transfers are governed by the transfer mechanisms described in each provider's privacy policy, typically Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission or an adequacy decision. The Service Provider itself operates no servers and stores no personal data outside these services.

Data Retention
Children

The Application is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and its advertising requests are not treated as child-directed. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided the Service Provider with personal information, please contact dimadyuk.dev@gmail.com so that the necessary actions can be taken.

Security

All network communication of the Application takes place over encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections. Data stored on your device is protected by the security mechanisms of your operating system's application sandbox. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Device Backups

Uninstalling the Application normally removes the settings, favourites, and conversion history stored locally on the device, subject to the backup and restore mechanisms of your operating system: where device backup is enabled, a copy of this data may exist in your own Google or Apple backup and may be restored when you reinstall the Application or set up a new device. Those backups are held under your own store account, not by the Service Provider.

Data Breach Notification

In the event of a personal data breach affecting the Application, the Service Provider will notify the competent supervisory authority within 72 hours of becoming aware of it where required by Article 33 GDPR, and will inform affected users without undue delay where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to their rights and freedoms.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be communicated by updating this page and its effective date. You are advised to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Application after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or about how your data is handled, contact the Service Provider at dimadyuk.dev@gmail.com.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 2026-09-07.
